Who should hire Tim?
Do you have
a commitment to understanding the behaviors and underlying decision-making processes which are limiting your personal growth and the growth of your organization
From the CredoThe MountainUnderneath every stuck place is an un-checked assumption — a rule the leader has been carrying without knowing he was carrying it. Surfacing that assumption is the work.

Who should not hire Tim?
Many consultants are hired with the implicit understanding the goal is to support the existing strategies and processes.
Tim has difficulty with projects which are putting lipstick on the pig
From the Credo — Principle 7You cannot move what you are not standing on.Do your own work. Leave the other man’s work to him. Tend your own ground. Let his weather be his. Plant in real soil, or do not plant.

What changed because of working with Tim?
All business metrics improved because of an understanding of the role of each member of the management team plays and an acceptance of the associated performance responsibility.
What is different about working with Tim?
The management leads and then the whole team must be willing to dispassionately review both an individual’s and team commitment and performance in support of business growth.
Sacred cow beliefs and practices are identified and challenged
From the Credo — Principle 6The world owes you nothing.Every expectation you carry is a wire across your own path. It will trip you. Every assumption you make is an illusion in your mind, not a reality in the world. Verify, or cut.

Tim is an
extremely gifted, multi-discipline businessperson
From the Credo — PrefaceThree RoomsWhat I know I learned in a pit, in a scan room, and on a long road the Didache called The Way. The pit taught me probability. The scan room taught me chaos. The Way taught me what holds when the pit and the scan room both collapse.

He delves down to root issues that are manifesting problems and inhibiting solutions
From the CredoThe MountainUnderneath every stuck place is an un-checked assumption — a rule the leader has been carrying without knowing he was carrying it. Surfacing that assumption is the work.

answers the difficult questions with direct questions and often uncomfortable answers
From the Credo — Principle 6Verify, or cut.Every expectation you carry is a wire across your own path. Every assumption you make is an illusion in your mind, not a reality in the world. Verify, or cut.
Read The Decision-Maker’s Credo → . The wisdom of those answers evolve and grow into a perspective and a thinking process clearly outside your comfort zone. That is how I achieved growth and change.
Do not hire Tim if you are convinced you are the brightest crayon in the box. It’s a bad fit, because the uncomfortable solutions he will put on the table will not be given a chance to reveal their wisdom and benefits. If you want the best people to engage in forming thought and dialogue, Tim is the correct choice. He will take you to places that few others are capable of.
To facilitate systemic change, real growth and solutions for the better is not a comfortable process
From the Credo — Principle 3Make peace with chaos. The deal can fail. The marriage can end. The diagnosis can return. The market will not pause for your grief. Live anyway. Decide anyway. The wood under your feet does not stop being wood because the storm came.

What was different about working with Tim?
What was different about working with Tim is that he is patient. My growth and transformation took time, and he met me in a season where I was navigating a lot and carrying a lot from my career. He respected that, while also shaping my thoughts and my coaching toward the future.
Tim asks powerful questions, and he does so in a way that can be challenging at times
From the Credo — Principle 6Verify, or cut.Every expectation you carry is a wire across your own path. It will trip you. Verify, or cut.
Read The Decision-Maker’s Credo → . I can remember moments where we had intense, challenging coaching conversations, and then later that same day he would send me a text saying, “Hey, how are you? Checking in on you.”
Tim possesses something very unique in the coaching space:
he knows when to press, but he also knows when to be relational and considerate
From the Credo — Principle 5Love the whole person, or do not engage.Half-love is contempt wearing manners. If you cannot take your partner, your child, your client, your enemy whole — with the parts you would rather not — leave the room until you can. Halves do not heal halves.
Read The Decision-Maker’s Credo → . He is a challenging voice in your life in some of the best ways, because he cares.
What changed because of working with Tim?
What changed because of working with Tim was my ability to see myself as a man who thinks a lot. I’m a thinker, and I finally had someone who would listen long enough and be present long enough to let me wrestle with my thoughts instead of just casting them aside.
Tim was my business coach, but he took time. It never felt like he was driven by a clock, a contract, or financial gain on his part. It felt like he wanted to see me, my wife Leslee succeed, and he wanted to see my business succeed.
I went from aimlessly navigating leaving ministry, trying to consult pastors, and at one point trying to stay in ministry, to becoming someone who is a competent, confident business mind who now owns and co-leads a scaling Marketing Agency
From the Credo — Principle 1You are responsible for your own life.No coach, no consultant, no spouse, no therapist carries the weight of it. They can hand you a lamp. The dark hallway is yours to walk.
Read The Decision-Maker’s Credo → . Even now, I can reflect on conversations with him and think, “This is crazy. I disagreed with him, but now in business I’m saying, dang it, Tim was right.”
What changed is that I have a higher way of thinking. There are a lot of coaches, but there are very few key coaches who elevate the way you think. Tim has definitely been that for me.
Who should hire Tim? Who should not?
The person who should hire Tim is someone like me: someone in transition, someone trying to go to another level, someone who is not satisfied, and someone who cannot be overly sensitive, because Tim is going to challenge you.
You have to be willing to take what he says and know that it is coming from a place of wanting to see you grow and be successful, not from a place of criticism.
Who should not hire him? Anyone who just wants simple answers or simple solutions. Tim can consult, but I think the real gift he gives you is the ability to challenge your thinking, help you become a better mind, and improve the way you process decisions.
